There are many reasons to consider working at summer camp. A camp job not only provides you with experience working with children, it also helps you to develop skills such as leadership, teamwork, and planning ahead, which are skills essential to ANY job.
Most importantly, though, coming to work at Maple Key is like becoming part of a family. Our staff work together, play together, and form bonds that often last well beyond the summer season. Our main goal is building summer memories for our campers, but these memories are shared by our staff as well.
"There was a good staff vibe: I felt like we all were open with each other and got along well as a result, improving camper experience." - Staff Member, 2009
"I am most proud of the campers who had such a fantastic summer and so many want to come back next year! Also I found that the campers got along well with other campers and made friends through camp and learned the importance of encouraging others and treating others with respect." - Staff Member, 2009
"I would describe it as a summer well spent, somewhere you can go to get experience with children, and a place to meet new and exciting people who become friends for a long time after. :)" - Staff Member, 2010
"MKDC is great! You would love working there. There is so much friendship and joy at Maple Key - even though we can get stressed from time to time. It's a wonderful place to work. Not a day goes by without lots of laughter and smiles." - Staff Member, 2010
"Maple Key Day Camp is a place where staff and campers form a true bond. The staff at MKDC work hard to not only know the names of all the children, but what they like to do, and how they like to learn. Which in turn is amazingly accomodating to all learning styles. Campers are able to make friends quickly because camp is a fun and safe atmosphere, even the most nervous camper can feel right at thome in just minutes. When I am a parent, my child WILL definitely go to MKDC... I wouldn't even think twice about it!" - Staff Member, 2010
