Maple Key Day Camp officially opened in the summer of 2009 with the goal of offering specialized, high-quality programming to children aged 5 - 15. In addition to summer programs, we also offer workshops and PA Day camps throughout the year.
What makes our camp special is the attention to detail in our programming. Each age group follows a schedule that is designed specifically for their stage of development: Younger campers receive a wide range of activities with shorter periods, and older campers have an element of choice, so that they will spend more of their day participating in activities that most interest them. Our many special events build team unity and help form relationships built on shared experiences.
Maple Key Day Camp has also developed a special leadership program for ages 13 to 15, to help young teens develop into responsible, caring young adults while providing younger campers with positive role models.
Kristen Widenmaier and Mike Gold, the owners and directors of Maple Key Day Camp, first met many years ago while working at a day camp in Toronto and have many years experience as counselors and activity specialists. After running the Perth United Soccer Club’s summer day camp program for three years, they started Maple Key in order to provide the Perth area with the same quality found in big-city camps, but with a small-town community feeling.
