Maple Key Day Camp

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Will you really refund our fee if my child doesn't like camp?

A: Yes! If your child is not a happy camper at the end of the first day, we will refund your fees.

Q: What do you do for lunch?

A: Our campers bring their own lunches, but we also have an optional lunch program. The details for 2010 will be posted soon.

Q: What do you do when it gets really hot?

A: Please see our weather policies on our safety page.

Q: What happens if it rains?

A: We have special rainy day programming prepared, so that rainy days will become a day full of surprises rather than a day to be dreaded. Our indoor facilities allow many of our programs to continue to run normally.

Q: What should my child wear to camp?

A: We recommend your child wear clothes that are suitable for outdoor activities. Dressing appropriately for the weather in easy-to-remove layers is also important. Remember: Campers get dirty when they are playing hard. Please do not send your child in "good" clothes.

The standard camp footwear is athletic sandals (closed back) or running shoes. Please do not send your child in crocs or flip flops. Campers who do not have appropriate footwear may have to sit out of some activities.

Q: How do you handle discipline?

A: We believe the best way to avoid inappropriate behavior is to plan an engaging program that keeps our campers so busy they have no time to act out. We also make our expectations clear. However, we have a policy in place for any problems that should arise:
1st Offense:          Camper is spoken to.
2 nd Offense:          Time out from activity.
3 rd Offense:          Call to Parents.
Since safety is always our first priority, we reserve the right to ask that children not return if we feel they pose a safety concern for our other campers.

Q: Do you accept half-day or individual day registrations?

A: It is important to us that our campers form friendships and a feeling of belonging while they are at camp. When different campers are present each day, it prevents those bonds from developing. For that reason, we accept only full-day registrations for a minimum of one week.
